December Programs

Illusion Necklace with Ofra

Wednesday, December 17th 7pm
Just in time for holiday gift giving, or a little gift for yourself. Come and enjoy the fun of learning how to make this simple and elegant necklace. The beads on the necklace look as if they are floating. Crimp beads are used as "stoppers" so the floating beads stay in place. This program is open to adults and young adults. $10 materials fee collected at registration.

Teen Movie: The Maze Runner

Tuesday, December 30th 6pm
Based on the bestselling novel by James Dashner, this adventure thriller follows a young boy named Thomas who finds himself trapped within a giant, deadly maze with a group of other kids. While he has no memories of his life prior to being in the maze, he is plagued by nightmares about a shadowy organization known only as W.C.K.D., and hopes that these fragments of dreams will help him discover the secrets of his past and a way to escape. You decide which is better-the book or the movie. Rated PG-13

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Patient Playbooks
Monday, December 8th 3:30-4:30pm
There are more than 6 million children hospitalized each year. Being in the hospital can be really scary, especially for kids, and can actually lead to depression. Games and other activities can be a great distraction for kids in hospitals. In collaboration with DoSomething.org we will create activity books to brighten their stay!

Money Jars for Charity
Monday, December 15th 7-8pm
We will create a loose change jar using tissue paper, paint, markers, buttons,
embellishments, ribbons, and stickers. We will wrap them in cellophane, tie with a ribbon and donate them to children at Ronald McDonald House. A
community service certificate will be given to all participants!

Dog Toys for Charity
Monday, December 22nd 3:30pm-4:30pm
Dogs that don't get toys to chew on can be less playful, which makes them less likely to be adopted. Everyone loves a playful pooch! We will make DIY doggie toys for shelters and encourage potential adopters to give those pups a new home. Please bring an old t-shirt with you!
