December Programs


LEGO CLUB
Tuesday, December 11th, 3:3O-4:3Opm
Join us to practice your crazy Lego building skills. We provide the Legos - you create the masterpiece. Open to grades 4-9. No registration required.

CHESS CLUB
Children (3rd-6th Grade) 7:-7:55pm
YA & Adults (7th-Adult) 8:-8:55pm 
Our chess club will meet on Tuesdays, December 11th and 18th. New players welcome! Sign up any night the club meets.!

Chess Tournament
Sunday, December 16th 1-5pm
JUNIOR DIVISION: Grades 3-6
SENIOR DIVISION: Grade 7 -ADULT
Join Chess Master Joel Salman as he conducts this lively tournament for chess enthusiasts. Five rounds of timed matches are planned for the Junior Division (grades 3-6) and four for the Senior Division (grade 7-adult). Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in each division, and prizes will be given to those players who complete the tournament.

CUPCAKE DECORATING
Tuesday, December 18th 7-8pm
Join us to decorate holiday cupcakes using frosting, cookies, and candies. All food coloring for frosting is Organic with no artificial colors or flavors. Use your creativity to decorate a delicious treat for yourself or a friend!  Sign-up in advance!

No School and Don’t Know What to Do? Check out all of the fun activities we have planned at the Library! Programs are open to North Bellmore patrons in grades 6-12. Make sure to sign up online to hold your place because space is limited!

Teen Movie:HUNGER GAMES
Wednesday, December 26th 1pm
Did you miss it the first time around? Or maybe you have seen it a hundred times and can't get enough. Join us for a viewing of the Hunger Games on our big screen! No registration required.

ANGRY BIRD CRAFT
Thursday, December 27th 4:30pm
Are you obsessed with Angry Birds?  If you are, then you will love making this craft with Linda Reilly. We will create jumbo hanging decorations of your favorite character from Angry Birds!

COOKIES for CHARITY
Friday, December 28th 2:30-3:30pm
Join us in baking for a good cause. We will learn to make homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch, and Miss Kathy will bake half of them and bring them to the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen in Hempstead. We will bring the other half home to enjoy with family & friends.
