NOVEMBER PROGRAMS

WINTER WHITE COTILLION (RESCHEDULED)
Wednesday, November 14th 4:30-6:30pm at the Merrick Library
Join us to celebrate the release of the 2nd book in Jen Calonita’s Belle’s series! Step into Izzie and Mira's heels and experience what it would be like to train for cotillion first-hand. We are teaming up with the Merrick, N. Merrick and Bellmore Libraries to host this incredibly fun Winter White event that is much more than just a regular book signing! Those who sign up can learn the waltz with a dance instructor and proper table manners with an etiquette expert. Show your love for Team Izzie or Team Mira by dressing as your favorite character from Belles. Books will be available for purchase. Please sign up in advance online or at the Adult Reference desk.

BOOK BUDDIES
Tuesdays, November 13th, 20th, 27th, and December 4th, 4-4:45pm
Teens and children become “buddies” by sharing books and a positive library experience. Children get a chance to practice their reading skills and/or be read to while teens gain volunteer experience, community service credit and a chance to make a difference in a child’s life. Please sign up in advance online or at the Adult Reference desk.

TURKEY COOKIES

Join us to get in the holiday spirit and make some delicious treats! After a quick demonstration participants will make 3 adorable turkey cookies to take home! Grades 5+

MONTHLY CLUBS
Lego Club
Tuesday, November 6th, 3:30-4:30pm
Join us to practice your crazy Lego building skills. We provide the Legos - you create the masterpiece. Open to grades 4-9. No registration required.

Chess Club
Children (3rd-6th Grade) 7:-7:55pm

Our chess club will meet on Tuesdays, November 13th & 27thand December 11th. New players welcome! Sign up any night the club meets.

CHESS TOURNAMENT
Sunday, December 16th 1-5pm
JUNIOR DIVISION: Grades 3-6
SENIOR DIVISION: Grade 7 -ADULT
Join Chess Master Joel Salman as he conducts this lively tournament for chess enthusiasts. Five rounds of timed matches are planned for the Junior Division (grades 3-6) and four for the Senior Division (grade 7-adult). Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in each division, and prizes will be given to those players who complete the tournament. Sign-up in advance!
